A vendor white paper available to download online has highlighted the benefits of eprocurement systems and software.
The document, which advises on how to avoid common mistakes when choosing and implementing eprocurement technology, says such applications can both yield high returns on investment and encourage good corporate governance.
In addition, it notes the benefits brought to cost savings and streamlining processes by procurement systems, citing a 2006 Aberdeen Research study which found that 59 per cent of 170 companies surveyed had reduced requisition to order costs since implementing eprocurement software.
The research also discovered that 84 per cent of respondents had decreased requisition order cycles and four in ten had reduced "maverick spending".
