The Welsh assembly government is to launch a new eprocurement system that it hopes will save the country's economy millions, it has emerged.
According to computing.co.uk, ProcServe have been appointed as one of the key suppliers for the initiative, which will connect areas of the public sector more efficiently with suppliers of products and services.
It is hoped that the new scheme will mean Wales could make savings of around £200 million per year.
Commenting on the announcement, Welsh minister for finance & public service delivery Andrew Davies said he was expecting the project to promote a number of significant changes in the country's business sector.
"This programme shows Wales at its finest, using cutting-edge technology to deliver the best value possible for the Welsh pound, creating public services we can be proud of," he said.
Last week, the Scottish government announced that its eprocurement system had seen increased business transactions of up to five times for 2007.
