The City of Waco, Texas has chosen the Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) to cater for its procurement needs, it has been announced.
LGviewer, LGweb and LGaddress are all part of the company's LG GIS software suite and will help extend the software procurement in the city and enhance local services, GTG has claimed.
The programmes will help workers view land management maps and addresses, as well as pass data along a network.
And James Kelt, regional manager for GTG, has hailed the deal as an example of how procurement needs are often much more effective when delivered "at the top" of an organisation.
"By spatially enabling their databases, the city is now able to run high level reports, queries, map creation and analysis that will make each department more effective and efficient," he said.
The city of Waco, Texas came to worldwide attention when a US army siege on a compound inhabited by Branch Davidians led to over 70 deaths.
