A new scheme is under way at California State University (CSU) to ensure that disabled people in the system can access administrative information, it has been reported.
The procurement system, which includes the California State University for Long Beach, will employ information technology as well as printed media.
The effort will also see informational materials made available detailing the process for campus constituencies.
And an official has commented that the full implementation of the program requires several smaller components to be put in place.
"Achieving accessibility will require collaboration among faculty, disability resource centers, bookstores, academic and student services departments, academic technology and other institutional staff, and students with disabilities," said CSU executive vice chancellor Gary Reichard.
This week, the University of Pennsylvania commented that its e-procurement system saved $88.7 million during its first decade.
