The Supply Management Awards 2007 recently took place and saw a range of companies singled out for prizes.
Organised by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (Cips) which has now detailed the categories and competitors, the overall winner for the year was named as energy company E.ON, while the nod for best process improvement initiative was given to Fujitsu Services.
An award for best public procurement project saw six bodies shortlisted, including Sellafield and the Department for Work and Pensions' vehicle procurement strategy, but the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency took home the winner's title.
The title of most improved purchasing operation (start-up) was given to the North West Collaborative Procurement Hub, which beat other schemes such as the Essex Procurement Hub and the NHS Resource Procurement Hub.
November 1st saw Ron Jarman take over as president of Cips. He is currently the global head of sourcing at Reuters.
