A new modern gas turbine power plant at Southampton will be operated and maintained by Lawson software.
The Marchwood Power plant, under construction with an expected completion date some time in 2009, will be run using QuickStep Enterprise Asset Management software.
Based close to Southampton Water in Hampshire, it will supply electricity to more than 800,000 homes.
The business process package includes maintenance management, finance management, procurement, plus supply chain planning and execution.
Marchwood plant manager Tony McShane told computerweekly.com: "Our industry operates on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year, involving complex and expensive assets, so any downtime creates an expensive situation which needs to be minimised through a good maintenance strategy."
The company stated that the 840 megawatt plant on the Marchwood industrial estate will use the state-of-the-art technology aimed at energy efficiency and low impact to the environment.
It added it will be one of the most efficient electricity generators in the UK.
