A new initiative has been announced by Japanese electronics manufacturer Sharp that aims to make the procurement and manufacture of its LCD TVs more environmentally friendly.
The firm has unveiled plans to make its range of LCD TVs greener and have suggested that this will not only include the manufacture and delivery of its flat panel screens but will also involve the procurement of parts and materials, according to cclonline.com.
Sharp's managing director for the UK Paul Molyneux said that the move would build on the company's attempts to play a "leading role" in improving processes in line with ecological concerns.
"Sharp has already reduced CO2 emissions at its factories by integrating all the processes of manufacturing LCD TVs to significantly reduce impact on the environment," he said.
Sharp has previously said that it would introduce measures that express its commitment to environmental policy including the increased use of solar panels.
