A new Web site designed to streamline information about business opportunities at the Millennium Challenge Corp. was launched recently.

The Millennium Challenge Corp. is a U.S. government agency designed to work with developing countries on programs that help reduce poverty through economic growth.

The site provides direct links to MCC's compact program procurements, threshold program procurements and corporate procurements. A compact is a multiyear agreement between the organization and an eligible country to fund specific programs. The threshold program is designed to assist countries that have demonstrated a significant commitment to improving their performance and are on the verge of qualifying for compact funding.

The Web site also enables users to obtain up-to-date information about compact program procurements via an RSS feed. Additionally, the site has video and downloadable podcast presentations on a range of the group's various business opportunities. Lists of procurement notices appear prominently on MCC's newly redesigned home page.

Most of MCC's threshold program and corporate procurement opportunities are posted to the Federal Business Opportunities Web site.

To help identify MCC threshold program procurements, which are primarily implemented by other federal agencies, and MCC corporate procurements, the new Web site is able to resourcefully search listings of both types of procurement opportunities.

About MCC:

The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is a United States Government corporation designed to work with some of the poorest countries in the world. Established in January 2004, MCC is based on the principle that aid is most effective when it reinforces good governance, economic freedom and investments in people. MCC's mission is to reduce global poverty through the promotion of sustainable economic growth.

Before a country can become eligible to receive assistance, MCC looks at their performance on independent and transparent policy indicators. MCC selects eligible countries for Compact Assistance.
