A second conference on e-sourcing and eprocurement issues is being held this year in the Middle East following the success of the inaugural event in 2006.
The second CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply) Middle East e-Sourcing and e-Procurement Conference, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Dubai, will feature panel discussions, case studies and workshops applicable to both the public and private sectors and organisers hope that it will "break new ground in the region".
Ken James, CIPS chief executive officer, said: "We understand that value and profitability are important ingredients of any successful business. This conference is uniquely designed to help participants understand the key ways in which procurement can influence and lead the success of a company."
Entitled The Winning Agenda - Procurement & Supply Inspiring Change, the two-day conference in October will see leading supply and procurement professionals discuss the latest issues in e-sourcing and eprocurement.
Top procurement professionals are set to attend, including Mr James, Saeed Mohammed, senior vice-president of procurement and logistics from airline Emirates and Gerard Chick, CIPS head of knowledge management.
CIPS claims that its membership in the Middle East is growing rapidly, with many entrants from the region for its professional qualifications.
