Businesses could benefit from the low-carbon development opportunities that are being made available by the London 2012 Olympics, one expert has noted.
According to Kent Online, MP for Chatham and regional minister Jonathan Shaw said that the opportunities being created by the games represented a great chance for businesses in the area to profit.
He said that there were also a number of opportunities for sustainable, low-carbon developments thanks to the Buying Greener trade fair which had seen that had already resulted in a number of development projects.
"It is also a great opportunity to lead the way in sustainable development and the challenge is to leave a lasting and long term legacy by doing it well," he said.
Last month managing director of Watson Steel Structures, Peter Emerson, praised the tendering processes being operated by the official 2012 Olympic Games eprocurement system.
