A transportation management systems provider has announced that it has improved its procurement processes.
According to the Purchasing.com news website, LeanLogistics has revealed that its Carrier Procurement Services will now be available as a standalone offering to all buyers of logistics.
The website reports that prior to the announcement, the service had only been made available to users of the company's on-demand TMS system and that this has now been revised.
In a statement the LeanLogistics group claims that users of the Carrier Procurement Service will be able to create benchmarks for current rates which can be used against those within the firm's network.
This network includes over 20,000 users as well as an estimated 4,000 carriers and around 2,000 suppliers.
Dan Dershem, chief executive and president of LeanLogistics, said: "We leverage a critical mass of data from our vast transportation network, along with our best practices knowledge and resources, to deliver sustained improvements in service levels and transportation spend to clients."
The LeanLogistics system also promises to provide ongoing quarterly reviews of carrier routing compliance and further support for logistics RFPs.
