Technology and innovation consultancy firm Altran has chosen Ariba to provide procurement and outsourcing solutions in a bid to maximise spending.
In a multi-year deal, the spend management specialist will install purchasing software and manage non-strategic spending. The objective of the deal is to sustain Altran's "operational excellence" with lower costs.
"We have our sights on becoming the world leader in innovation consulting," explained Eric Albrand, Altran's chief financial officer. "As such we are taking aggressive steps to drive operational excellence."
With its service infrastructure and procurement software in place, Ariba will be charged with minimising the cost of office supply and IT procurement, travel, facilities and marketing.
The managed procurement services division of Ariba will analyse spending; source and negotiate with suppliers; manage requisition, spend compliance and invoicing; as well as establish a procurement help-desk.
"Altran recognised early on that innovation is not only a differentiating factor, but the key to success in today's global economy," said the vice president and general manager of Ariba's managed procurement services division, Shahriar Broumand.
