The most trusted source for IT procurement professionals when it comes to purchasing is social media, it has been reported.
A survey from online professional community ITtoolbox and PJA Advertising + Marketing has found that executive-level purchasers spend close to 3.5 hours using such sites, with close to two-thirds claiming the content has helped them make informed decisions, according to Environmental Leader.
The study added that user-generated content is referenced a lot by 42.6 per cent of those questioned, with editorial sites and industry publications mentioned by 40.7 per cent.
Earlier this week, the government announced that it has signed a contract extension with Global Crossing.
The £105 million deal will see the company continue in its role of main contractor for the Office of Government Commerce's OGCbuying.solutions.
The programme of services supports 90 public sector bodies, including those in education and health.
