A new service has been launched in the US that is designed to enable healthcare facilities to procure essential hardware systems more efficiently, it has been revealed.
The service has been made available by the SupportNet company and allows healthcare professionals to go online and place a procurement order for whatever technology they require.
It is hoped that he eprocurement self-service system will enable physicians, as well as purchasing agents and office managers, to do their jobs more effectively in the ultimate interest of patients.
SupportNet's chief executive John Goff said: "SupportMed.net provides immediate access and flexibility for independent physician practices and healthcare IT professionals in their procurement of necessary software and hardware devices."
"Offering online availability to healthcare-related products helps our customers quickly add to their network infrastructure and mobile healthcare environment with as much or as little interaction as needed," he added.
SupportNet was founded in 2001 and suggests that its business aims to lighten the burden of managing IT systems on healthcare professionals.
