The London Area Procurement Network (LAPN) has selected five firms to undertake housing refurbishments worth some £42 million, it has emerged.
According to Contract Journal, the procurement consortium has chosen Balfour Beatty, Apollo London, Lakehouse, Mulalley and Wates for the general building category framework deal.
The LAPN was established with the aim of combining housing clients and offering larger work packages to save time and money for the ten arms-length management organisations involved in the network.
And following the selection of companies, LAPN chairman Gordon Perry explained the progress made by the decision.
"We believe we will now reap the rewards of our intense efforts to bring this all together," the website quoted him as saying. Mr Perry is also chief executive of the Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation.
Other organisations in the LAPN include Hounslow Homes, Barnet Homes and Homes for Islington.
