The benefits of investing in eprocurement technology have been highlighted by one communications specialist.
In an article for the News-Press, Jennifer Berg notes that some businesses need to consider the way that they look at online procurement as it can often be significantly beneficial when bidding on government contracts.
She states that by using eprocurement small businesses can take advantage of more streamlined processes and avoid "piles of forms" and "hard-to-understand instructions".
Ms Berg then goes on to state that the online buying and offering of products and services saves people time and money and can often be easy and in most cases "worth a try".
Last week the Scotsman reported that the value of transactions that had been carried out using Scotland's online procurement system had grown by five times during 2007.
The figure reached £1.7 billion during the year and represents around a quarter of all procurement within the country's public sector.
