A leading convenience store operator has announced it has achieved more than a ten-fold return on its investment in eSourcing technology.
Sheetz Inc said that the success was down to the application of sourcing technology from Category One, a provider of reverse auction and eRFX services from California.
Category One is a company based near Los Angeles which specialises in delivering e-sourcing expertise to grocery, convenience, logistics and food companies.
A spokesman for Sheetz said that the use of Category One's e-sourcing process and technology has been used for more than three years and continues to yield good results.
Bill Ruggles, senior purchasing manager at Sheetz, said: "Category One has helped us identify the key categories, and provided us with leading edge auction technology. The result has exceeded our expectations."
Joe Buchanan, managing director at Category One, added that the return on investment Sheetz has received is "impressive to say the least".
He praised Sheetz as a role model for the food industry, saying: "Their commitment to great food, fast service and broad selection requires a streamlined procurement process."
