Croydon and Bromley councils will follow the lead set by many companies across the public sector and take on an e-procurement strategy, it has been announced.
It is hoped that incorporating such a system will help the London boroughs save on temporary labour outgoings by adopting an integrated procurement programme, according to 24dash.
Comensura - which has generated more than £21 million in procurement contracts - has been appointed as the organisation to provide the strategy, it added.
Previously, the two councils had relied upon a network of around 100 recruitment agencies each in order to manage temporary work but with the new system in place it is hoped that this workload will be streamlined.
Situated in south London, Croydon has a population of approximately 330,000, according to Census 2001.
Bromley, meanwhile, was the birthplace of famous novelist H.G. Wells, whose most famous work is arguably The Time Machine.
