The agency in charge of the NHS' wide-ranging IT overhaul, Connecting for Health (CfH), has published a list of 116 companies that could be awarded contracts for its Additional Supply Capability and Capacity (ASCC) contract.
On the list are 34 national suppliers and 82 small to medium-sized enterprise suppliers.
CfH stated: "It is not intended that any ASCC awarded frameworks will conflict with existing contractual arrangements and there are no guarantees of volumes of business in the ASCC framework contracts."
The project to award the contracts is presently in a "dialogue phase", CfH went on to state yesterday.
BT, Fujitsu and Accenture are among the companies on the list.
CfH is in control of setting the NHS' new IT system, which is worth approximately £12.4 billion.
Since its inception, the new IT system has been plagued with glitches and failures and the project is already an estimated one year behind schedule.
