British construction company Carillion is to introduce an e-procurement system in order to cut the costs of employing temporary staff, it has been reported.
ExpressHR will provide the web-based system, which according to Management Consultancy is based on Microsoft Windows 2003 as well as Sequel 2005.
Using the procurement tool, Carillion will be able to manage invoices, timesheets and payroll for more than 1,500 temps, it added.
And Carillion business systems manager Paul Preston has said that the system will help manage and maintain staff.
"The new system will help us monitor our staffing requirements, supply suitable staff and depending on whether we are supplying blue collar or white collar posts, it can help with coordinating the interview process," said Mr Preston.
On the company's website, Carillion claims that it employs 40,000 people and has an order book that is worth over £9 billion.
