Members of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) will be able to vote via the internet to elect new council representatives, it has been announced.
The organisation unveiled this latest development on its website, explaining that the Electoral Reform Services will be responsible for administration of the online ballot.
Each council member has specific responsibilities and works to sustain the objectives and corporate strategy of CIPS.
It is also empowered to create subsidiary bodies and create operational rules which determine how the organisation is managed.
Full CIPS members resident within the UK can vote in this year's election, with the online voting window scheduled between May 15th and June 16th.
Meanwhile, last month saw CIPS announce a new chief executive officer, Simon Sperryn.
Mr Sperryn said it was "an exciting time for the profession", adding that many of the biggest challenges facing public service providers at the current time related to sustainable supply and procurement policy.
