Fluor has announced that Autobahnplus, in which it has a 25 per cent stake, has won a 30-year contract overseeing operations for the A8 motorway in Germany.
The procurement, engineering and construction contract is estimated to be worth $85 million and will involve widening 37km of motorway between Augsburg and Munich.
Commenting on the contract, Patrick Flaherty, senior vice-president of Fluor's infrastructure business, said that the firm "continues its successful track record of participating in first-of-a-kind and major transportation public-private partnership projects in Europe".
The company was also involved in the UK Highway Agency National Roads Telecommunication Services project and London Underground's Connect Communications PFI scheme, he added.
Earlier in the year, Fluor announced that it was to provide procurement services to US-based company Marathon Oil, as part of an expansion project at its Garyville refinery in Louisiana.
Under the contract, the firm expected to manage local contractors employing 2,000 workers.
