The first aeroplane to be produced as part of Airbus' joint venture assembly line will be delivered in the first half of 2009, it has been claimed.
Forbes has reported that the procurement programme in Tianjin, China, will produce four aircraft per month between 2009 and 2011.
This will result in 50 units a year, it added.
The aeroplane manufacturer stated that the deal, worth over $60 million (£30 million) this year and $120 million (£60 million) by 2010, will see China become one of the most important aviation markets in the world - as well as improve its own prospects.
"China, undoubtedly, has the ability to develop its own large aeroplane," the company said.
"Strengthening industrial cooperation with China will help us achieve higher growth in this booming market."
Airbus is the aircraft manufacturing subsidiary of EADS NV and was established in 2001.
