An IT hospitality specialist has announced that it has acquired private inventory and procurement software company Eatec.
It has emerged that Agilysys, who provide a number of software solutions including point-of-sale offerings for clients in the foodservice industry, made the purchase of Eatec for an estimated purchase price of $23.2 million (£11.9 million).
Eatec has in the past had success with its EatecNetX inventory and procurement management system that offers users the opportunity to access data for use in improving sales and profitability as well as increasing efficiency.
Commenting on the move, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Agilysys Arthur Rhein said the acquisition would build on the company's already strong market position.
"Similar to our previous acquisitions of Visual One Systems and InfoGenesis, the Eatec acquisition complements and expands our offerings - allowing us to better serve our customers," he said.
Earlier this month, IBM Global Services Business unveiled Agilysys as winner of its Partner Sales Leadership Award.
